This museum is located inside the Louvre Palace which was built in the late twelfth century by order of Philip II and later was expanded the palace several times to become what it is now opened to visitors on August 10, 1793 with approximately 537 plate and artifact Currently it includes about 35,000 artifact and the painting and ceramic works of art and prints and drawings, mostly back to prehistoric times, and varied pieces of Egyptian, Greek, Romanian and Islamic monuments.
